Is this proper ID for my flight

Is this proper ID for my flight?
Hi, I'm 17 years old (considered an unaccompanied minor for my flight) and in a week I'm flying from Tucson, Arizona to Portland, Oregon to stay with a friend for a months time. The only form of ID that I have is an expired passport (Been expired for like 7 years or something now) and I also have my Social Security Card. Will I get any trouble about my identification with these 2 pieces of ID? The flight isn't international, so I would only be using my passport to prove who I am.. Thanks!

What about state ID .. whenever in doubt, call the airline.

As you are under 18 you do not need to provide ID, but you should have someone drop you at the airport who can vouch for who you are, an expired passport may also be enough, but any current id you have would also be helpful.

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/acceptable_documents.shtm If you have a passport (even expired), SS card, and a birth certificate you can get a state ID card. They are issued by the same office as driving licenses and the card will be made while you wait. A parent may need to go with you to the office and show their ID.

You don't need an ID if you are under 18. Honestly, no one really needs an ID... but anyone who wants to pull that better arrive at the airport at least 3 hours ahead of their flight because they are going to spend a long time being questioned by TSA to prove their identity.

You are under 18, so you are not required to have any I.D. You can just go through with your boarding pass and bag. You're lucky because you just make the cut by one year. Maybe it's time to start thinking about getting a driver's license for future travel.
