luggage weight restrictions, help!

luggage weight restrictions, help!?
I'm flying to taiwan tomorrow and i found out that my flight from portland to seattle is by lufthansa and their weight limit is 44 pounds but my flight from seattle to taiwan is by eva airlines and their weight restriction is 50 pounds. who's policy do i follow? my bag is at 47 pounds and i don't know if i should remove some things or not. thanks a lot!

I'd assume it's a one stop flight. In this case, you'd be checking in your luggage at Lufthansa counter and they will weight the luggage. Once checked in, you won't be able to retrieve the luggage until you arrive at Taiwan. Eva airline in this scenario will not have a chance to check the weight of your luggage. Therefore, you need to remove that extra 3 lbs from your luggage.

take a carry on and if overweight transpack. usually leaving usa is 50lbs, and coming back is 46lbs, 23kilos.
