What should I do on a long flight

What should I do on a long flight?
Yes, So my family and I are going to Hawaii from Portland, Oregon to Oahu. I don't even know how long the flight is.My mom said 6 hours but the Hawaiian airline website says 8 hours! Anyways, I know I should read, listen to music, etc. but I mean does the plane have anything. Like movies or whatever? Other Questions: How long is the flight usually? What do you do if you scared of flying? I can't take pills. What if your claustrophobic? How many seats are on the Hawaiian aircraft? Thank you!

-Stop Obsessing about it & just "Go with the Flow" . As LONG as you remember to bring your Imagination WITH You- you'll find Some way to pass the time on the 6 hour Trip. Enjoy Hawaii !! :)

A flight from Portland to Honolulu with Hawaiian Airlines is about 5 hours and 40 minutes. There MIGHT be a movie on the plane but don't count on it Go to sleep If you're claustrophobic get a seat in 1st class It depends on what plane you're taking

Here is a fun tip, if you are scared of flying try to sit next to the most desireable person you can see around (ask the hostess to change your seat), say hello and be friendly with your fellow passenger (think strongly that you have to impress him/her with your smile and attitude - you are a perfect person) in that way you will be able to maintain your composure. Another way is that assume you are a celebrity (james bond or princess dianna) and behave in the same order. Lastly, if you think that this "on th plane" flirtation is not your type than play a video clip (a funny or the favourite type) and keep watching with your ear phones on, you may play a video game as these are very involving and indulging actitivties to keep your brain too busy to think of "flight fears"

My husband and I flew from Seattle to Honolulu last year for our honeymoon. I don't believe they showed an in-flight movie ... but this might be because we had a huge delay - flight was supposed to leave at 5 pm, and didn't end up leaving til almost 9 pm. Everyone was pretty tired! You can listen to their radio, and also the cockpit chatter, but the plane doesn't really offer much. I have heard Hawaiian Airlines is one of the very best airlines out there, so that's going to be a comfortable flight. As I recall, the flight took no more than 6 hours. We didn't fly Hawaiian though, I believe we had Delta. I don't know what time of day you're leaving, but I ended up sleeping on our flight because we didn't arrive until 10 pm - by that time, I was ready to crash at the hotel! If you can, get some books about Hawaiian culture - I know it sounds dorky, but we saw some traditional Hawaiian performances, and their language is so pretty! Oddly, I am claustrophobic in a lot of situations - being underwater, being in a small elevator ... but airplanes don't bother me. I try to make sure my carry-on personal bag isn't too big so I have plenty of leg room (not that they give you much to begin with!). Since you'll be with your family, have someone talk to you and joke with you the whole time. I did this for one of my family members so she wouldn't pay attention during takeoff. Just keep thinking about how much fun Hawaii is going to be, and lots of people ride planes everyday. It will be over before you even know it. Good luck on your flight, you'll love Oahu ... totally different perspective. Make sure you check out the International Marketplace in Waikiki, you can get cute jewelry, souvenirs, etc, for a really good price!
