can a 14 year old travel alone in an international flight?
im 14 wanting to go to mexico this summer i would go from portland to mexico city is there an airline that makes these kinds of flights that would let me travel alone? if yes which one and is there an extra charge?

I think it can be any airline and no extra charge. Just as long as you have parent or guardian's permission. Call the airline you want to go to first and they'll send you something, I'm sure.

Yes, you may travel as an unaccompanied minor on any airline going there ( my grandsons used Continental.) there will be a fee of about $100.00 to fly as an unaccompanied minor. Your parent must call the airline to make the arrangements, then go early on the day of the flight to fill out some papers and pay the fee. You will need a passport and a letter of permission signed by both parents and notarized. See site below and read the section on MINORS under Entry Requirements.

You can definitely travel alone, Mexicana Airlines allows you to travel like an adult from 12 -17 yrs old. if your parents decide they want to have someone escort you then they charge 100us for the service
