Can I bring pbj's on an airplane

Can I bring pbj's on an airplane?
I want to take a cross country flight from portland, maine to san francisco. Can I bring peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches with me on my flight, or is that prohibited b/c of issues with semi-liquid substances?

Sandwiches are allowed on an airlines. Just tell them before checking in.

I have done that many times. No one will care at all. You don't have to tell anyone. I put them into a sandwich carrier to prevent them from being squashed. Fruit, snacks, and just about any other food is OK as long as you avoid things like yogurt, pudding and such. Don't take a jar of PB or of Jelly, though.

my fave! not perishable, good source of protein to keep your hunger at bay. Pack one more than you think you will need. I don't think there's a nonstop PDX-SFO, so you will have a stop somewhere, right?--so maybe eat 1/2 on the first flight, save 1//2 for the second. btw for your trip back....PB&Js on sourdough are awesome!

You should be able to have a prepared pbj sandwich, snacks(e.g. snack crackers, pretzels, cookies, etc.) in your carry on bag. Now to go through security you can't take drinks (liquid more that 3 or 3.4 fl.oz.) Once you get through security you can purchase one to take on the plane.
