I'm trying to find a cheap flight from either, Portland, Or-Calgary. Or Medford, Or-Calgary. Last night $860, but now it's jumped to over $1000 for two people to travel. Can anyone help me?

Best bet is online. You have to keep checking online and book it when you feel it's lowest. The prices will change almost everyday due to lower number of seats and things like that.

What dates are you flying? You are going TO Calgary from Portland or Medford?

It sounds like you aren't checking flights which are at least 2 weeks in advance. In most cases you should be able to find tickets for less than that but $860 for two people isn't a horrible price. I've seen prices like that for a single person. Tim http://www.wholesaletravelservice.com

The best way to save money is to be flexible with your dates. If you go on Travelocity.com, right now if you use the flexible dates search, from Portland to Calgary is $285 per person round trip, plus taxes.

Book quickly. Airline prices keep rising until the date of departure. This site lists great cheap travel websites: http://www.travelbargainsites.com One site compares all the airlines at once to find the best price for a flight.
