I was flying from Burbank, Ca. to Portland, Or when the flight was diverted to LAX after 20 minutes in the air. I was re-booked for the next day from Burbank and paid a service to get me home from LAX that day. Does Alaska Air owe me for any inconvenience?

Nope. It was your choice of transportation home. You could have called a friend or relative to pick you up for free.
