Try kayak. it's the travel service I use... the problem is of course that this is a late booked flight and you generally pay premium for those. Good luck www.kayak.com

From Portland, forget it, it's a small airport with expensive fares. If you can get up very early on the 13th and drive to Boston, there is a 5:30 AM connection from Boston->Phila->Chicago, return on the 15th to Boston leaving Chicago at 6:37 AM, for $229. That is a terrific fare for such short notice; if you really want to go I would book it now. At least at that hour you won't have to worry about traffic on the Turnpike.

Take the Concord Coach Bus from Portland to Boston so you don't have to hassle the traffic and avoid the outrageous parking fees. Look at bookings on Jet Blue from Logan to Ohare or on Southwest from Boston (you might need to fly out of Manchester, NH) to Midway. It's going to be tough on short notice to get a flight as cheap as $200.00. Good luck.

John has a great point. Smaller the airport, more expensive the fares. I would recommend going to BOS and then flying out of there.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
