What should I expect to pay for a flight to Maui (from Portland) in June

What should I expect to pay for a flight to Maui (from Portland) in June?
I'm planning a honeymoon trip to Maui for June 27th - July 5th of this year. I started watching flights out of Portland last week and they were around $450-500. Since then I've seen them increase to $500 and $550. Should I expect this trend to continue as we get closer to my travel date? I read online that typically flight prices are best 6-8 weeks in advance of departure date, but I'm worried to wait and end up paying way more. Note: I understand that airline pricing is complicated and no can know for sure if prices are rising or dropping. Just looking for your experience. What have you booked for? What did you notice when you were booking? Is there anything about my travel time that makes the situation better or worse?

Portland to Maui isn't a very competitive route, since there are only two flights a day. When I look up the Alaska flight, it looks like there are only seven seats left. Buy your tickets now, or you'll pay more and possibly have to take a less direct route.

Look at www.bestfares.com you might need to make a connection rather than fly non stop from Portland. Sometimes you can find cheaper fares by going to a major market like L.A. or San Francisco.
