You'll have to fly to into Berlin. For a random travel date in July, for one adult, with taxes, is $1509. That is just for airfare, so consider traveling in September or October, when the ticket price drops to $1070. You'll probably be able to catch a cheap hotel for about $500 for a week, and the rest goes toward transportation ,food, and memorabilia. For cheap vacation packages, try: Hotwire.com Priceline.com Expedia.com Kayak.com Travelocity.com Good luck!

If you are looking to travel this summer, you have left it too late to get anything cheap. See www.Kayak.com for all airfares. Getting a train in from somewhere else will cost you the same in total.

You can take the cheapest fly an buy a interrail ticket: Valid between 3 and 8 days, 194- 299 Euro, traveling all over Germany. More expensive for more days, versions for traveling through other countries or whole europe also. Our you can buy a state ticket, valid for to 5 persons one day in one German state, 28 Euro for all together. Avaiable on every train station. You can also take a rental car. If you choice a small one it's not very expensive. Why Berlin? Frankfurt or Munich might be cheaper.
